Wipro to Partner the San Francisco Marathon


Bangalore, India, July 28, 2011 – Wipro Technologies, the Global Information Technology, Consulting, and Outsourcing Business of Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT) has partnered with The San Francisco Marathon (TSFM) – an iconic event, for its next three editions. The strategic partnership, facilitated by Total Sports Asia, will see Wipro coming on board as the Presenting Sponsor of TSFM in 2011 before assuming Title Sponsorship rights for 2012 and 2013.

Having come into existence in 1976 to “celebrate personal accomplishments and memorable events”, The San Francisco Marathon (TSFM) has grown into one of the most iconic marathons in the USA with participants traveling from across the World to match their wits against thousands of runners. The 34th running of The San Francisco Marathon (TSFM) presented by Wipro will take place on Sunday, July 31, 2011.

Starting this year, The San Francisco Marathon is all set to become the “Tech Marathon” with prime placement in Silicon Valley and access to cutting edge technology resources including runner and spectator mapping and tracking, virtual couponing and high-tech apparel to name a few. The three-year partnership brings together the technology focused community event with the global leader in information technology, consulting and outsourcing.
